Happy Birthday To The Greatest Historian

This morning we celebrate the birthday of a magnificent black historian Carter G. Woodson who introduced Negro History Week to this nation to counteract the white bigotry that suppressed black achievement in detailing our historical accomplishments. Carter G. Woodson also wrote the groundbreaking book, The Miseducation of the Negro. Carter Woodson lived a full life encouraging the expression of the story of the African-American. So let's celebrate his birth with a mini-lesson on his life. Included in the session is the speech Mary McCloud Bethune gave the year of his passing, Passing The Torch.
