The Black Blogger Celebrates Charles Hamilton Houston
First I will present some historical background information about Ancestor Charles Hamilton Houston. Then I will read aloud a speech given by Charles Hamilton Houston in 1943.
Ancestor Houston passed away 4 years before the May 17, 1954, Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court Decision. However, without the legal expertise and training provided by Charles Hamilton Houston to those majestic lawyers presenting the case especially a young Thurgood Marshall, there would not have been a legal victory that day.
I wonder this morning if Ancestor Houston would have taught a different legal approach considering all the failures that integration has presented in many of our black communities?
