The Black Blogger Celebrates Charles Hamilton Houston

First I will present some historical background information about Ancestor Charles Hamilton Houston. Then I will read aloud a speech given by Charles Hamilton Houston in 1943.

Ancestor Houston passed away 4 years before the May 17, 1954,​ Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court Decision. However,​ without the legal expertise​ ​​and training provided by Charles Hamilton Houston to those majestic lawyers presenting the case especially a young Thurgood Marshall, there would not have been a legal victory​ that day.

I wonder this morning if Ancestor Houston would have taught a different legal approach considering all the failures that integration has presented in many of our black communities?
