Deeds Not Words YOU HAD BETTER GO ASK SOMEBODY

Words of Black Man Struggling To Survive

They said our people were forever slipping

That our thoughts never seemed to move towards gripping

The gravity of your plans against us seem to keep us always tripping

People’s who loved to hear lies while never reading the newspaper clippings

Thinking you only taught us about life’s jigging

Avoiding the essential fact that life demands economic riggings

Slicing up our communities for others to feed

While our children continue to suffer in others greed

Lead on the wall and in the pipes

Brains deadened so who believes the hype

As this words I appear to type

Children die whose there too gripe?

So now you know our sufferer’s pain

Who in America’s scheme now stands to gain?

Consequently the bricks starting chipping

Our people’s resolve finally pushing back

Against this nation’s constant need too press us back

Forever clipping wings of progressive flight

Surely thinking you stole all of our might

Damn you knew that wasn’t even right

So decided we all stood finally realizing

That together banded we were now no longer tripping

No more slinking fools with unkempt tools

Your undefined ruse  ignited our pent up fuse

We no longer wanted to pay a sucker’s dues

Nor play by those pre-established rules

Waiting Waiting Waiting Whack

Blasting Blasting Blasting Back

Never Again Moving Moving Moving Back

You see a dance you hear a song

You fail to see that we no longer will just move along

Moving to all those simple beats

While still catching all of society’s bitter heats

So when see Lamar’s uprising

Why do I get sense you find that quite surprising

That Bey’s gone back to whence she came

Colored black oh she hadn’t lost track

Y’all seemed overly concerned just with her rack

You must admit it is definitely stacked too attract

Understand America it’s is simply no game

You see we as a people can no longer be tamed

Nor can we continued to be shamed

Nor we will ever think we have no blame

For we refused to understand how forceful was America’s scheme to maim

So as I said in my initial thought

Damn, I hope these words are not just for naught

They said our people were forever slipping

That our thoughts never seemed to move towards gripping

The gravity of your plans against us seemed to always keep us tripping

But today my friends we are not ripping, slipping, tipping, or tripping

Today my friends we together hand and hand are gripping.
