Hug A Sister Today, All Day, Every Day, In His Words, My Voice

“In His Words, My Voice”, today’s Valentine Day Celebration to the power and struggle of black women. On August 15, 1883, Alexander Crummell, gave this speech to the Freedman’s Aid Society at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Dr. Crummell was one of the most noted intellectuals of the 19th century in America, black or white. His genius was indeed unparalleled and certainly, he spoke truth to our goal of equal justice in these United States. Join me today as I pay homage to Black Sisterhood on the self-prescribed day of love. Remembering, that “our black history need not ever be a black mystery”
