Our Black History Need Not Ever Be A Black Mystery
Today, I will present a quick lesson in false promises related to reconstruction. First, the words of the just freed slaves from the state of Virginia and second the words of the former Vice President of the Confederacy, Alexander Stephen. The end result is that when truly measured the reality was that the period of reconstruction which was supposed to draw a line of equality between freed slaves and whites in both the north and the south was just a mirage. You see our black history need not ever be a black mystery. The goal for America should have been true economic, civil, judicial, and social equality at birth, no matter the skin color. That's why race still determines an individual's fate in so many ways today. Let's talk about it?
