The Portable Frederick Douglass, Project Uplift Literacy, 1861 In His Words, My Voice

In these three essays, we will see how Frederick Douglass viewed the impending war between the states. The battle for the conscience of America from a Black American's perspective. He first discusses a potential move to Haiti, then he writes about the attack on Fort Sumter, and finally on General Fremont's decree that freed all the slaves in Missouri an edict that was rescinded by President Abraham Lincoln.
