Anthony Burns: Our Black History Need Not Ever Be A Black Mystery

To be snatched off the streets of his newfound home a home he selected when he escaped from bondage was not what Anthony Burns excepted on May 24, 1854. However, Anthony Burns was human property whose life was not his to barter nor own. So when he was snatched from his newly found freedom he understood that the bonds of slavery were now in his future.
