This Land Is Your Land, This Land Is My Land To Dammit!

Provoked Thought of the Day

"Kick his ass!"

"Shoot him!"

“Leave this country nigger”

“Go back to Africa”

"Sieg Heil!"

“Light the motherfucker on fire!”

Maybe it’s 1948 and my brothers and sisters you would be hiding in the corners of a rally of the Dixiecrat Party lead by Senator and Segregationist  Strom Thurmond. Thurmond’s only rally call at the time was the complete separation of the races in America. Are we in a 1964 campaign rally of Presidential candidate George Lincoln Rockwell, noted racist and Nazi Party Leader. Rockwell ran in 64 as a write-in candidate for the Presidency of the United States.  Or we could be at a rally of the then not racist reformed former Governor of Alabama George Wallace.  Whose cry of segregation now, segregation forever was the calling call for those who sought racist vengeance in the 60’s and 70’s. Wallace, sought redemption from his evil ways when one of his own boys took him down in a shopping center in Laurel, Maryland while running for President in 1972. Or, maybe it’s 1976, and we are on the campaign trail with former segregationist Lester Maddox as he takes on the nomination as the Presidential nominee for the American Independent Party?  These words of vile hatred are normal at any public stop of our current President. That’s why what occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia is not surprising at all. When you can still see the statue of the Confederate soldier looking south on Main Street in Alexandria, Virginia. Many people feel that the America of that time is the America they want to see today and tomorrow. It is no way in hell is this happening in America in 2015-2016, or 2017? Right?

They said, have said that 2017 this nation is in an that is defined as post-racial. Really, some this vile acts of racism are hideous now as they were 40, 50, 60 or even a century ago. While we don’t have hundreds of thousands wearing sheets with robes marching proudly down the Main Streets of America. We have those people in suits, blue jeans, dresses, skirts silently on the sidelines hoping for an America of yesteryear. While, black communities are literally being savaged by drugs, murder, corruption, educational malaise, economic despair and all other sorts of acts that put us on display as being both victim and perpetrator. We have many of our own people with eyes shut in a seemingly unconscious state watching the world go by on Bravo, VH1, and the other media modes of deception. Our interest stays within a 15 minute level of caring beyond that we lose seem to lose interest. America, a nation that supposedly no longer sees the color of a person’s skin only the content of that man’s character. Well, today in America certain sectors of this country is as fixated on skin color as there were we blacks were in bondage, and the red man was being massacred on the plains. The color line oh, that damn color line, when will it ever truly be an invisible line. When will color not be a factor in the equality of race equation?

Well, someone is demanding my brothers and sisters that we had better wake the “fuck up”. Is it our enslaved ancestors calling from their bloodied and soiled unmarked graves? Is it our ancestors who were emancipated yet never truly given the privileges of full citizenship? Is it the freedom riders, and civil rights workers who demanded justice and we were given broken promissory notes? Something is calling because the times we are living in a more dangerous than ever. Nations can crush either other within seconds and minutes on clocks. When racists can engage, disrupt, terrorize, murder, and maim so-called white respectable citizens. What chance do we truly have to resolve this atmosphere of hate? Blacks and other people of color are still as much racial targets of these ignorant peoples animist today; As there where in 1922, 1948, 1964, 1972, 1976. This time the atmosphere of hate is permeating within the walls Donald Trump’s White House. This hateful rhetoric is publicly encouraged by his followers. These are dangerous times in the world in which we live. The world is seemingly engaged both civil and religious battles on virtually every continent on the planet.

When one of the two major political parties of this country excuses this type of participant behavior as a ho hum.  Well, brothers and sisters why do we not react in the way those defenders of justice reacted in our communities in the past? Brothers and sisters, please don’t ignore the writing on the walls of injustice.  The time for encouraging cooperation within our communities from coast to coast, or from sea to shiny sea is now. Whether, you have a home that looks out on the Pacific Ocean in Malibu, or a flat in a roach infested building in Bed-Stuy, or a suburban home on the outskirts of Atlanta or Charlotte, or if you are escaping the gunfire in West Chicago. We as brothers and sisters of historical heritages must understand that our struggles are linked and brothers and sisters all must begin to get fixated on true solutions to extinguish racial inequalities.

It seems that my provoked thoughts have always come back to the same message economic self-sufficiency, as well as educational independence for the communities of brothers and sisters across the country. Maybe, it's because that surely transmits an urgency of need within this nation for our people. The saying goes if we build it they will come. Maybe it should apply like this if we start to truly it believe the impossible becomes possible.  If any people of color support the craziness that is the Trump Stupids I can only say may God Bless You for you are connected to a group of people longing for their good old days of yesteryear when chains were in vogue for black Americans.
