Today, I read from Mission From God, James Meredith's recollection of being shot on Highway 51 on June 6, 1966. First reported as being murdered James Meredith did, in fact,​ survive the Remington shotgun blast to his head outside the town of​ Hernando, Mississippi in his March Against Fear.
