“TREME” JULY 2, 2011
When I first heard that while watching the dramatic series TREME, which was the fictional story of life in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, after Hurricane Katrina. I reflected back to the multiple black communities that have been afflicted with storm damage not caused by natural disasters but the damage done by human neglect, societal disengagement, and the destructive forces that come with abject community poverty.
