On December 2, 1859, John Brown was executed for his failed attempt to resurrect a mass rebellion of blacks held in bondage by securing the Armory in Harpers Ferry, Virginia. The Black Blogger reads the words of William Lloyd Garrison's, the New England abolitionist's reaction to that day's execution. If one act could be singled out as the spark to America's quest to end the insane institution of slavery it was the public hanging of Captain John Brown.
